Household Garbage

Curbside Carts

Household garbage must be wheeled to the curb in City-issued 95-gallon garbage containers by 7 a.m. on your collection day, then rolled behind the front of the house by 7 a.m. the next morning.

If you don't have a curb, please place the container at the end of your driveway or alongside it at the roadway. Please, no carts should be put out sooner than 7 p.m. on the evening prior to your collection day.

Excess Garbage

Excess garbage may be placed in plastic bags (30 lbs. max.) with ties, then placed on top or beside your garbage cart, but we recommend you purchase a second cart. Garbage scattered from broken/torn plastic bags will not be collected by City crews. Likewise, garbage placed in non-City-issued carts (e.g., 30-gallon Rubbermaid containers) will not be collected.

Additional Household Carts

In an effort to improve the City's appearance, additional household carts are offered to residents for $50. These carts do not have City seals and are the personal property of the homeowner. The maximum carts allowed to be picked up are 6 per household, 1 seal cart, 2 extra purchased ($50 each) carts, 3 purchased brown yard waste carts ($50 each).

Care of Carts

Please record the serial number(s) of your cart(s) for reference. All carts with City seals are City property assigned to specific addresses. It is the homeowner's responsibility to replace the cart if stolen or da.m.aged by means other than normal use. Repairs to City-owned carts may be scheduled by calling this office.
