The City of Bartlett hired Kevin Franz in August of 2000 as its first fulltime Information Technology employee.   He has lived in Bartlett since 1994 and is a graduate of Christian Brothers College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration majoring in Telecommunication and Information Systems Management.  Originally from Fort Smith, Arkansas, Kevin met his wife Cindi, a proud graduate of Bartlett High School and together they started a family here in Bartlett.  

Upon his hiring at the City, Kevin went straight to work creating computer use policies and procedures to bring the City into the modern age.  From modems to fax lines to fiber-based Internet, Kevin has overseen the building of a vast network connecting 24 City municipal locations, managing 600 email accounts, procuring all computer and electronic hardware and establishing the Information Technology department.

Kevin holds certifications and qualifications in many IT disciplines such as, Microsoft Certified Professional, Accredited Systems Engineer, A+ Service Technician, Nortel Phone Systems, and Master Certified Network Engineer to name a few.

Kevin attended and graduated from Subiaco Academy high school and was active in Football, Track and Tennis.  He was elected President of the school’s National Honor Society.  He continues to serve on the Academy’s Alumni Board of Directors.  He continued playing tennis in college and was name a two-year Letterman at CBC.  He was also the Vice-President of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity while attending CBC.  He enjoys time with family and an occasional round of golf.
