Welcome to the Bartlett Public Library! We are excited to offer the wonderful community of Bartlett our books and services. Residents of Bartlett can use their Bartlett Public Library card to check out books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs, and magazines and gain access to public computers and printing services. LIBRARY CARDS
Residents and property owners in Bartlett are entitled to a free Bartlett Public Library card. Non-residents may pay a $50 yearly fee to use The Bartlett Public Library; while, non-resident seniors may pay $25 yearly.
Non-residents that are exempt from the fee and can obtain a free Bartlett Public Library card include: City of Bartlett staff and their family, active duty and retired military personnel and their families, St. Frances Bartlett Hospital staff and their families (including Bartlett Cancer Center on Bartlett Campus), Bartlett public and private school students, Bartlett public and private school staff, Bartlett YMCA employees and families, university students, and Bartlett business owners.
To obtain a card, bring valid identification and proof of current address or property owned to the library’s Circulation Desk. Patrons 17 and younger need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to obtain a library card.
LOAN PERIODS
Books, Audiobooks, Non-Fiction Videos, and CDs: 21 days
New Books and New Materials: 14 days
Entertainment DVDs and Magazines: 7 days
FEES
At this time, no materials at the Bartlett Public Library have check-out fees.
A maximum of 25 items may be checked out at any one time.
Photocopies are $0.20 per page. Printing from public computers costs $0.20 per black-and-white page and $1 per color page.
FINES
At this time, the library does not apply late fees to overdue materials.
The cost of all lost or damaged items must be paid.
Fees must be paid before additional items can be checked out.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Beginning this fall there will be opportunities for students in middle and high school to join the Bartlett Public Library Teen Ambassador Program (BPLTAP) or the Intermittent Volunteer Program. All students will receive an email which entails the forms for both programs. The Intermittent Program will allow students to achieve their limited volunteer hours required. The Teen Ambassador Program will allow the students to work as a team with good communication to attain some larger projects for the library. This program will have an application process.
CHILDREN, TEEN, AND ADULT PROGRAMS
The library has many one-time, series, and ongoing programs for all ages. Toddler Time, Homeschool Hangout, and PreK Readiness are some of the ongoing children's programs offered at this time. DND Club and Teen Homeschool Hangout are some of the ongoing teen programs available and Genealogy, Adult Coloring, and Plant Swaps are some of the ongoing adult programs. Check out the calendar of events for all of our programs and events.
Special programs and events are held throughout the year and are advertised in the library as well as on the library’s website.
ONLINE SERVICES
Customers can view library account information, renew books, place holds on items, preregister for a library card, and access the library catalog and informational databases 24 hours a day at Bartlett Public Library.
PUBLIC COMPUTERS
The Bartlett Library has 20 computers for public use which access the internet and Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel. There is a one-hour time limit on these computers for guests. Use of the computers is free, but charges apply for printing. A valid library card is required to use the computers if a time of over one hour is needed.
WI-FI ACCESS
Wireless internet access is available for use with laptop computers and other personal devices equipped with wireless capabilities.
