Open burning is prohibited within the city limits of Bartlett!
As our City grew from a predominantly rural setting to the suburban community we know today, it became necessary to pass legislation controlling open burning. Fire safety, air quality and the health concerns of our citizens are the main reasons stated for the creation of this ordinance.
Bartlett City Ordinance Number 20-102
Prohibits open burning of any type within the city limits. Open burning consists of any fire built upon the ground for the purpose of burning yard debris, limbs, leaves, trash, and garbage or construction waste.
If you have questions concerning open burning you can email the Fire Marshal or call 385-3322 or email the Deputy Fire Marshall and we will be happy to help in any way we can.
